# Third-party notices

aicad is built on the open-source software below. Each component stays under its own licence, which governs it; the aicad licence (LICENSE) does not narrow the rights those licences give you.

Generated by `scripts/third_party_notices.py` from the packages installed in the environment it ran in, plus the versions and platform-specific packages `uv.lock` names for other platforms, so it reflects `uv.lock` at the time it was run. The Rust crates are in THIRD-PARTY-RUST.md.

## Libraries you may replace

These components are under the GNU Lesser General Public License. aicad does not modify them and loads them as separate wheels or shared libraries, so you may replace any of them with another build of the same version: install a different wheel of the package into aicad's Python environment (the Windows download is such an environment, in its `python` folder, not a single executable). Their source is available from the pages linked below. The texts of the licences are in the `licenses` folder: LGPL-2.1.txt, LGPL-3.0.txt and GPL-3.0.txt, which the LGPL-3.0 incorporates.

The stress solver's native extension (aicad/_native, built from native/) links its Rust crates statically, among them faer (the sparse Cholesky), pyo3 and numpy. ## Part data and names

The dimension tables of aicad's standard parts (screws, nuts, washers, inserts, pins, retaining rings, bearings, O-rings, T-slot framing and linear guides) are published dimensions from standards and makers' catalogues, which are facts; each table file names its edition and sources (aicad/fasteners/data/README.md, docs/ADDONS.md). The geometry is aicad's own drawing. The names V-Slot (OpenBuilds), HIWIN, PEM, EJOT, McMaster-Carr, Seeed Studio and XIAO, KiCad, JST and the other makers and standards bodies cited are their owners' marks, used only to say which published dimensions a part follows. aicad is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.
